The nature in "North-Tromsland" varies greatly like the colours which change with the seasons...
The area’s nature offers an exquisite play of colours, making it ideal for photo safaris. During the Polar Night, when the sun does not rise above the horizon, the majestic Northern Lights illuminate the sky. During sunsets in late January to March, we often get a magical blue light above the white peaks and blue fjords. The play of colours in North-Tromsland is at its strongest in April and May with a combination of light green, sprouting leaves on the trees, white snowflakes on the mountains and bright blue fjords below! In summer (June-August), the alpine mountains and their glaciers are a delight for the eyes, particularly in fine weather when you can see the highest peaks, which rise 1500-1800 m above sea level. During autumn, the play of colours changes character, particularly on clear autumn days (September-October), in the fjords around North-Tromsland when the winter’s first snow covers part of the peaks over 1000 m above sea level, while the vegetation and trees below display their spectacular yellow and red autumn colours. The play of colours in North-Tromsland simply has to be seen to be believed!
